Autodialers ???

Whats is an Autodialer - We answer it for you

An autodialer is a software or hardware-based system that automatically dials phone numbers, and can also play pre-recorded messages, transfer calls, and collect touch-tone input (DTMF) from the person answering the call. Autodialers can be used for a variety of purposes, such as telemarketing, customer service, appointment reminders, and emergency notifications.

There are different types of autodialers, such as predictive dialers, progressive dialers, and preview dialers.

  • A predictive dialer uses an algorithm to predict when an agent will be available to take the next call, and dials several numbers in advance to increase the number of connections.

  • A progressive dialer dials one number at a time, and only moves on to the next number when the current call is completed.

  • A preview dialer allows the agent to see the next number to be dialed and decide whether or not to make the call.

Autodialers are used in many different industries, including telemarketing, customer service, and emergency notifications. However, their use is also regulated by the government, particularly in the United States, due to concerns about unsolicited telemarketing calls and the potential for consumer harm. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) have regulations in place to protect consumers from unwanted autodialed calls, including the requirement for companies to obtain prior express written consent from consumers before making such calls.
